Treatment of Heart Condition and Stroke
Minutes Matter in These Critical Conditions
Upon the onset of chest pain, you or your loved one may be experiencing a heart attack or cardiac arrest, and medical attention is needed immediately. Not only should this attention be given quickly, but by an experienced and emergency-tested medical staff, equipped with the necessary treatment capabilities. The longer an individual suffering a heart attack goes without proper medical treatment, the higher the likelihood of severe damage to the heart caused by blood clots and clogged arteries. Once in the care of our medical staff at Central Texas Medical Center, you or your loved one will then be treated by renowned doctors utilizing the latest advancements in cardiac care.
Our Central Texas Medical Center has been accredited as a Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center, and most recently, has qualified for a prestigious Mission Lifeline achievement. The Mission Lifeline, as a part of the American Heart Association, has awarded us the Lifeline Bronze Quality Achievement recognition. This was indicated but our high success rate of treatment in patients with a qualifying ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction, or STEMI. For 90 consecutive days at our facility, more than 85% of our patients with this qualification received treatment in the required timeframe and were discharged from our hospital in accordance with the American Heart Association’s treatment guidelines.
